International Casino Review met with Giorgio Abbiati, CEO of Abbiati Casino Equipment, at this November’s BEGE Expo to discuss the winning combination of quality and customisability that distinguish the Abbiati brand in international marketplace.

Giorgio Abbiati: We are a well-known name in the gaming industry and our products are recognised for their elegance and precision.
We’re an Italian company, and our clients know that this is synonymous with the sophisticated and stylish finish which characterises our product portfolio, especially our gaming tables and roulette wheels.
Every piece we produce is detail-oriented, reflecting its luxury nature and our meticulous manufacturing process, and all our products can be personalised according to clients’ requests and design philosophy.
ICR: What have been the highlights for the company in 2016?
GA: Abbiati has seen remarkable growth as a company within the last few years and we have consolidated our presence worldwide.
The Americas were an important goal for us and we have expanded our presence in the region, thanks to our collaboration with Misty Rodda, a well-known expert in the gaming sector.
Moving over to Asia, this year was extremely successful with a number of casino operators confirming us as their first choice for supplying their refined casinos.
Additionally we have seen many big orders coming to us from North Cyprus and the African countries.
ICR: In terms of market trends, what product types are doing well at the moment and where have you seen growth?
GA: During these last years, we can definitely say that security casino currency products, such as chips, plaques and jetons, incorporating the latest security technologies to prevent casino currency counterfeiting, are among the most requested in our portfolio.
Our range includes an impressive collection of new patterns, designs and materials for the plaques as well as the new line of patented “Tie” chips featuring multiple injections, see-thru inserts and a combination of intricate and innovative rim and edge inserts.
All new products are available with security features including 13.56 MHz PJM RFID, 8-color UV pigments, 3-in-1 UV security feature, laser tracer technology, optical variable ink, high security holograms to list but a few.
Our wide range of poker chips are seeing significant demand, and we attribute the success of this series to its high quality and overall printing, which allow flexible personalisation to meet the requirements of every customer.
Another major product is our il Gettone chip, which combines the portability, durability and versatility in the best American-style alongside with high value technology.
Additionally, our gaming tables and accessories, such as professional playing cards and layouts, are always appreciated by clients for their high quality and competitive price.
ICR: Abbiati prides itself on the luxury finishing and manufacturing of its products. What kind of steps do you take to ensure materials selection and assembly are both to the highest standards?
GA: Behind every production step, there is a significant amount of research where our professionals study to ensure the best match in materials and finishing to guarantee the top quality and design for our customers.
We are continuously looking for the best suppliers who can offer us unique products and materials of the highest quality.
ICR: What does Abbiati gain from attendance at BEGE?
GA: We have been attending BEGE Expo for eight consecutive years and every year the event represents a great opportunity for Abbiati to meet our customers from the Balkan area and exhibit with our partner-distributor Alfastreet Trade BG.
It is a great place to showcase our latest products and innovations and also to expand Abbiati’s name.
ICR: Which of your products have you showcased for this BEGE Expo, and why?
GA: For this year’s expo we presented all main products from Abbiati’s portfolio, ranging from the American roulette wheel to the security casino currency products.
In particular we focused on Abbiati’s remarkable American Roulette and Black Jack tables, manufactured with high quality materials, providing a perfect combination of unique high-end design and stylish finishing.
The American Roulette table was presented with the Lucky Ball side bet, one of the options offered for the American Roulette game, while the Black Jack table debuted Lucky Tie, a new game offered by Abbiati.
