The Balkan Entertainment & Gaming Expo (BEGE) marks the beginning of the second decade of its creation with an expanded measure and concept, which changes the future of the gaming industry.
The 11th Balkan Entertainment & Gaming Expo starts on 21st November. This year the exhibition will present the new trends and developments in the gaming industry. BEGE is the largest event established in the Eastern European region, positioning Bulgaria as a technology centre for manufacturing companies and a place where experts, regulators and professionals can share experience, ideas and find partners and adherents.
For another year BEGE is going to be the event, attracting international and local gaming companies. More than 5,000 guests from Europe will attend BEGE 2018. The exhibitors – 90 companies from 35 countries in Europe, Asia and North America will be located in 3 of the halls of Inter Expo Center, Sofia and will present products of the land-based and online gaming sector, including mobile technologies and applications.
For third BEGE organises a stage for new technology companies and entrepreneurs that will present their ideas and business concepts in the startup competition Gaming Startup Challenge 3.0. Part of this challenge is going to be the Hong Kong-based – Bethereum Limited, Eye Motion from Armenia, the Bulgarian company intelliStack, South Korea’s Tripeaks, Wish me luck from Malta and the US-based ZenSports.
Among the big companies in the gaming and entertainment business that joined BEGE for another year are: Casino Technology, Novomatic, Ainsworth, EGT, Suzohapp, BetConstruct, Interblock, Merkur Gaming, APEX, Alfastreet Trade BG, IGT, Zitro and others.
Part of the new participants that BEGE inspired with its mission are: Zerobet, BetAdvanced, DLV, Betegy, Efes Club, Jeton Wallet, Zeta Gaming, Altenar, Pragmatic Solutions, Military Communications Works No. 1 S.A., G-Digital, DLV, Indoor display, Digitain and others.
The Bulgarian producers in the sector have traditionally ranked among the leaders in the worldwide gaming industry. The leading companies Euro Games Technology (EGT) and Casino Technology, which are among the most popular gaming equipment manufacturers in the world will present gaming machines, multiplayer games and system platforms that are adapted to many jurisdictions. The process of strategic positioning of the online companies is distinctive this year. For the period 2017/2018, the gaming industry in Bulgaria has increased its tax revenues, driven by the upward economic indicators in the country. During the nine-month reporting period from the beginning of the year to September, the gaming industry paid 174.4 million BGN to the state treasury which determines a steady and even rising levels, compared to the previous year level of tax revenues from the gaming industry.
This reinforces the role of the sector in Bulgaria as a stable source of revenue for the state and the companies that are engaged in the industry for another year prove their role as good employers.
An accompanying event during BEGE will be the 11th edition of the Eastern European Gaming Summit, forum focused on regulatory and legal aspects in the sector. Additional initiatives to support technology presentations there will be in the Innovation Zone and Sales Pitch zone, where 9 leading companies will present their products.
