Century completes Apex Casino acquisition

Century Casinos has taken full ownership of the Apex Casino located in the Edmonton, Alberta, suburb of St. Albert.

 

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he acquisition, which was first announced over the summer, closed on October 1, with Century paying C$27.9m (E19m) for the casino property and its gaming assets.

The venue has been rebranded as ‘Century Casino St. Albert’ and is the Colorado-based operator’s latest addition to its portfolio in Alberta, joining Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton, Century Casino Calgary and Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in North Calgary.

Century Casino St. Albert operates 382 slot machines and 11 live table games. It also features a restaurant, a bar, a lounge with a live entertainment stage and a banquet facility that can accommodate up to 175 guests.

In addition to its four properties in Canada, Century Casinos operates two casinos in Colorado, 13 ship-based casinos and, through its Austrian subsidiary, Century Casinos Europe, maintains a 66.6 per cent ownership interest in Casinos Poland, the owner and operator of eight casinos in eastern Europe.
