[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ussia-based casino developer Diamond Fortune Holdings has unveiled its plans for the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Zone, a casino development area located 50 kilometres (31 miles) from Vladivostok, Russia’s principal Pacific port.
The firm aims to develop four casino resorts in the area, with the first due to open in 2018 and the $914m project looks set to position Diamond Fortune as the largest operator in Primorye.
“We want to get the biggest piece of the pie as we are sure that [Primorye] has all the chances to become one of the biggest [gaming markets in the world],” Grzegorz Esz, a partner and board member at Diamond Fortune.
Esz stated that Diamond Fortune has been granted a total of 77 hectares covering several plots of land, making it the firm with the largest land bank in Primorye, which covers 619 hectares in total, of which 263 hectares have been allocated for the initial stage of the project.
“Each of our four projects is developed in collaboration with different world-leading consultants and designers, and each of [the] resorts will have its unique theme. Except gaming, visitors will be offered a wide variety of entertainment options,” he said.
We have already started landscaping and preparation works to lay the foundations for this resort and we are expecting to open this complex in 2019
The $900m Selena World Resort and Casino is set to be the first project to open in Primorye, to be developed in phases, when finished it will cover more than 300,000 sq ms including a 1,300-room hotel and a casino with 515 gaming tables and 2,590 slot machines.
The property will also have conference, spa and restaurant facilities: “Food and beverage will be at the core of our services given the importance of the culinary experience when travelling,” added Esz.
Later this year, Diamond Fortune also aims to begin construction on its second project, Sun Casino & Resort, which will be situated near a lake and include two hotels with a total of 900 rooms alongside a casino with 376 gaming tables and 1,840 slot machines.
“We have already started landscaping and preparation works to lay the foundations for this resort and we are expecting to open this complex in 2019,” Esz said.
Construction of Diamond Fortune’s other two Primorye projects, the Golden Gate and Moon Gate complexes is scheduled to begin in 2018.
