DR Gaming Technology and Grand Parade Investments establish DRGT Africa

In a mutually beneficial transaction, that meets the strategic expansion and investment goals of privately-owned global gaming and jackpot technology systems solution provider DR Gaming Technology and JSE-listed investment holding company Grand Parade Investments, the companies have acquired Simplicit-e Gaming Solutions and established DRGT Africa.

“We have enjoyed significant success over the last 5 years in Europe and Africa, as well as in Latin America, and the Caribbean, where over the last 10 months, in addition to our regional office in Lima, we have opened a further three offices in Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay’, said DRGT CEO, Jurgen De Munck, “…,at the same time, we were also looking to invest directly in Africa. Simplicit-e Gaming Solutions, our existing African distributor, presented the perfect opportunity to do just that.’

GPI in turn, remains a strategically opportunistic investor, particularly in respect of renowned global brands wishing to invest and operate in Africa. With its shareholding in both GrandWest Casino in Cape Town and Golden Valley Casino in Worcestor, as well as its stake in national Limited Payout Machine (LPM) operator SunSlots, a further investment in the gaming sector made perfect sense, specifcally considering DRGT’s systems and jackpot bias. “We see this venture as a vertical integration of our gaming assets, and look forward to leveraging our new systems investment across our existing gaming operations portfolio”, said GPI Executive Chairman, Hassen Adams.

With the expansion of the South African (and African) gaming sector, particlularly in the electronic bingo sector, DRGT has been able to entrench itself more and more as the systems service provider of choice through its relationships with the Gold Rush Group, Millionaire’s Gaming Africa and Caesars Entertainment’s Emerald Resort and Casino, not to mention the significant South African success across Sun International of its Duma, Sun Striker and Lion’s Share wide-area progressive jackots. As the supplier of arguably the world’s largest number of possible jackpot configurations, including mystery and linked progressive jackpots, the extension of the Company’s slots jackpot success to tables was the obvious next step. Over the last 24 months, DRGT has developed, tested, and had approved what has now become the most profitable Tables Jackpot game on the African continent.

BlackJack11’s is a fast, simple and easy to learn side-bet game that is presently performing exceptionally well across both the Sun International and Peermont Casino Groups, as well as in other venues across the globe like the Hippodrome in the U.K., as well as Grand Kaz in the Seychelles, Monterey in Mexico, and a number of casinos in Belgium and Cyprus.

“For all intents and purposes, Simplicit-e will continue to operate as is, but as DRGT Africa”, noted Charl Geyser, the founder and Managing Director of Simplicit-e Gaming Solutions, “….we will continue to service all of our clients as before, and look forward to our new relationship with DRGT and GPI; building on what we have already created, whilst leveraging GPI’s continental relationships, and the amazing ‘player first’ products DRGT continues to develop”.

De Munck added: “Charl and I have a long-standing relationship, he’s been our African distributor for almost a decade, and the transaction made perfect sense to both of us. Our investment and global presence will assist what was Simplicit-e Gaming to now grow at an even faster rate; both he and Hassen have amazing associations and networks across particularly the African and Australasian continents, and that aligns perfectly to our global strategy”.
