Eurocoin Systems is applying the disciplines and skill set developed over the decades looking after the needs of the amusements industry to a range of other sectors including healthcare, transportation and tourism – to great effect. The company’s sales and marketing director, Colin Veitch, explains the background to Eurocoin Systems, his vision for its future development and what operators should look out for from the division at EAG.
Coinslot: Can you summarise what Eurocoin Systems comprises, the key proposition and when the service/function was created?
Colin Veitch: Eurocoin Systems is 100 percent dedicated to the provision of business systems and support. Based in our Bath office, we formed the division in 2015 following our acquisition of two highly-respected and valued brands – Playsafe Monitoring and Thomas Automatics.
Currently, the business comprises our dedicated and experienced team of developers, systems support and operations specialists, blended in seamlessly with the Eurocoin commercial management team.
Our objective in forming the division was to build upon the enormous reserves of trust and goodwill that existed across the market for both brands and their product lines. The strategy was to add innovation for the modern machine operator as well as delivering significant benefits and cost-savings.
It’s a neat and totally joined-up suite of solutions to which the market has responded very positively.
CS: What was the thinking behind packaging the various services/function under a single umbrella?
CV: Our systems clients are seeking many things when they look to automate and modernise elements of their business, but ROI and peace-of-mind obviously rank very high on the list.
We work extremely hard to earn the trust of our customers by providing professional pre-sales advice at the planning stage, plus reliable, pro-active after-sales and technical support.
Eurocoin systems and our integrated hardware, like the Thomas PayStation or TITO ticket printers, are all sold, installed, supported and serviced by a single supplier – Eurocoin Systems. This means that our clients dial just one phone number for support.
Our call-logging data & customer feedback confirms that this is a genuine and much appreciated benefit and one that delivers meaningful cost-savings across our wide choice of packages, from which clients can select.
Overall, it is an integrated proposition which is underpinned by a really focussed commitment to service – the real essence of what we as a company are about.
CS: What firsts are you offering customers at EAG?
CV: EAG will witness the launch of our CashDesk system – a brand new front-end dashboard for our gaming and leisure sector customers. CashDesk is packed full of new features, and allows users fast and simple access to all our systems modules – Quantum Machine Management, TITO, Loyalty, Player Tracking and Redemption. We are confident that this will be a very popular add-on in 2018.
In addition, we are leading the way in the provision of electronic payments on our Thomas machines. Both the PayStation and the Thomas 1000 range accept contactless cards in exchange for tokens, pre-loaded membership cards or TITO tickets and I’m sure they will be among the key talking points at EAG.
CS: How have you approached the task of entering new market sectors and how difficult has it been to move from the amusements industry into healthcare, for example?
Thomas Change Machines have been extensively used for more than 30 years across multiple market verticals, especially transportation, healthcare and the broader tourism sector.
Our modernisation of this product line, combined with the flexibility of our cloud-based machine management systems has ensured that we continue to expand our Eurocoin Systems business beyond gaming and leisure.
Of course, there are differences between sectors, both culturally and the speed in which they operate. Dealing with an agile, family-owned amusements business can be totally different from a regional health authority as you can imagine; however quality products delivered on budget, on time and backed by exemplary after sales and technical support are what customers want, irrespective of the industry sector in which they operate.
I believe that our in-depth experience gained in the amusements industry has really established our ability to perform to the highest standards across other sectors.
CS: What are you targeting in 2018?
Eurocoin Systems is already benefiting from our extensive reach across Europe, with our regional offices providing us with new opportunities daily.
I am particularly excited about our partnership with cashless systems innovator Semnox Solutions, whose market-leading RFID debit card solution can be used to manage all areas of an FEC or amusement park encompassing games and attractions, F&B, promotions as well as inventory and redemption management.
They are clear market-leaders in the sector and our partnership is already opening new doors across the UK and Europe. We are forecasting significant growth both here and amongst our traditional gaming and amusement client base in 2018.
