Officials in the southern Russian city of Sochi have granted the first casino operating licence for the new gambling zone to LLC Domain.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he company was established in December by Singapore-based construction firm Silverron International Private Limited with Mikhail Danilov as its CEO.
“Following its application, LLC Domain has been granted permission to carry out activities for the organisation and conduct of gambling in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone by the Department of Property Relations of Krasnodar Krai,” said statement by Krasnodar Krai officials.
A number of reports have stated that Danilov has interests in the Altai Krai and Primorsky Krai gambling zones in addition to a stake in local bookmakers Star Bet and Bingo Boom.
Last month a spokesperson for the city’s administration confirmed that the first casino in the new gambling zone is on track to open its doors this December, with a soft launch expected around Christmas before a full-scale opening is held in early 2017.
Situated in the area of the Gorky Gorod ski resort and Rosa Khutor alpine resort the new zone will be able to accommodate 1,700 visitors at a time. Its development plans include 8,000 slot machines and 400 game tables, which should boost the local budget by RUB120m (E1.7m) on a month.
