Ghana hosts first world tourism forum in Africa

The Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel in the Ghanaian casino capital of Accra has become the first premises on the continent to host the World Tourism Forum.

 

The event is to bring together close to 50 foreign media houses, 10 African ministers, as well as an array of ambassadors, sector stakeholders, and chief tourism officers from a range of nations.

Akwesi Agyemang, acting CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority called on worldwide media before the event to collaborate with the local organising authority to best represent the country, currently in a period of marked commercial growth, to the outside world.

Ghanaian minister of tourism, arts and culture, Catherine Afeku said that the country was chosen as the inaugural destination of the forum due to its political stability, prospering economy, and business investment safety.
