The iGaming Education Forum opens in Malta this week for the first time and its organisers confirmed the support of five gaming leaders as moderators for the event.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he iGaming Education Forum opened during Malta Gaming Week with the endorsement of five industry leaders acting as moderators at SIGMA’s first ever educational driven forum.
Working with the forum’s organisers, the iGaming Academy, the selection of moderators bring experience from a diverse cross section of the gaming industry to this year’s event.
Attending the first edition of the iGaming Education Forum as moderators were; Russel Mifsud, Senior Manager at KMPG; Tal Itzhak Ron (M.Sc.), a General Member of International Masters of Gaming Law; Alan Alda, founding President of the ISACA Malta Chapter and current General Secretary of the Malta Remote Gaming Council; Michel Magro, Senior Legal Advisor for the Malta Gaming Authority; and, Director of the Malta Gaming Authority’s European Gaming Institute of Malta (EGIM), Thomas Mahoney.
Commenting on the first day of the forum and the endorsement of the five moderators, iGaming Academy Director, Jaime Debono, said: “It’s encouraging to see the first ever iGaming Education Forum off to such a positive start and the backing of these respected industry leaders has been a key part of that. The iGaming Academy has bought together over 80 years of experience with its trainers across the three day schedule and these moderators support that industry experience. Our five moderators combine knowledge and understanding of all the most important aspects of iGaming, from regulation and disruptive technologies to remote gaming and marketing and social media.
The first day has been a great success and with this year’s SiGMA set to break all records when it opens tomorrow, we are looking forward to bringing a new and dynamic dimension to this successful event.

The first day of the forum focused on Compliance with sessions on Responsible Gaming, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti Fraud and Payments Handling. The iGaming Education Forum will continue over the next two days at the Intercontinental Malta and will focus on two additional main areas relevant to the Gaming industry – Product Specific and Acquisition & Retention modules.
