IGT debuts new market-specific content in Macau

Exhibiting under the theme “IGNITE – A New Direction”, IGT fired up attendees at G2E Asia with a comprehensive presentation of gaming content and systems solutions for the APAC market.

The 2018 edition of G2E Asia saw IGT present a host of gaming solutions specifically designed for Asia-based casinos.

“G2E Asia is a major show on the landscape,” stated Walter Bugno, CEO of IGT International. “This year they’re expecting very strong attendance. We’ve been really busy and it’s been a very good show so far.”

IGT showcased a broad spectrum of approved, localised content, along with new hardware, mobile solutions for land-based casinos, and the company’s latest systems innovations at this year’s show.

“Last year we made a very important organisational change, reorienting two of our studios, in Beijing and Australia, to focus directly on the Asian market,” Bugno continued.

“We transferred the responsibility for those studios to our Asia-Pacific team and developed a completely new road map aimed at creating purpose-made Asia-attuned content.

“This strategy has paid dividends in a very short period of time. We’ve been able to bring out some very compelling new content and we’ve very proud of that.

“For us, G2E Asia is not just about showcasing our latest titles, it’s the type of game we’re bringing that matters,” he added.

“The Asian market is very much a links market, and reflecting this on our stand this year, the majority of the games we’re presenting are links-based.”

The company showcased the HyperHits link on the CrystalDual cabinet, with base games Lotus Princess and The Golden Bow HyperHits.

Approved for distribution in Macau, HyperHits is a linked progressive featuring a ball mechanic that awards jackpots and bonus prizes.

IGT also highlighted market-ready titles from its Prize Disk family of linked games, which feature a scrolling prize disk above the reels that awards free games, bonuses and jackpots, demonstrating the Macau-approved Elephant King and Wolf Ridge, alongside the forthcoming Tiger Fortune game.

IGT’s CrystalCurve cabinet and content also made their G2E Asia debut. Featuring a 43”, curved, ultra-HD, 4K display, the CrystalCurve cabinet is backed by a broad portfolio of core and premium games.

The company highlighted the Fortune Gong multi-level progressive with base game titles Dragon Dynasty and Guardians Treasure at the show, alongside standout core games from The Fury family, including Golden Fury and Fortune Fury – both featuring math models designed for regional player preferences.

G2E Asia also marked the regional debut of IGT’s CrystalDual 27 cabinet. Representing the evolution of the Crystal hardware series, the modern cabinet features dual, high-definition, 27” displays, the option for bank-wide synchronised lighting, and a mobile device charging port.

On the systems side, the company demonstrated the multiple capabilities of the IGT Advantage CMS and compatible modular components such as bonusing apps, Service Window and the Beverage on Demand solution.

Meanwhile, IGT also offered attendees the opportunity to experience the capabilities of its Cardless Connect and PlaySpot mobile solutions.

“Systems has been our cornerstone for the last few years and prior to the roll-out of our new content we’d really maintained our reputation and our presence in the region based on our systems,” explained Bugno.
“The majority of the operators in the Macau market utilise IGT’s Advantage system and it’s been a foundation for us.

“We are also promoting PlaySpot at G2E Asia; the feedback from all the operators that have seen it has been very positive and our focus now is getting regulatory approval for it,” he concluded.
