Merkur Gaming will be showcasing a new games range developed by its Las Vegas-based design studio, Sunshine Games, at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow and Convention this April explains David Orrick, Director of Industry Relations.

Casino Review: What will be some of the product highlights on your stand at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow and Convention 2019

David Orrick: The Games! First, last and always. In the case of NIGA, that is by definition a wholly American-centric event, we will present our latest game range created by our Las Vegas design studio Sunshine Games.

CR: What will be some of the key focuses for your company at the show?

DO: To take advantage of the climate in US land-based gaming that represents itself in a willingness on the part of operators to be open to market newcomers and to evaluate their product offering fully.

CR: In terms of tribal gaming, which states offer the greatest potential for market growth for your company at the moment?

DO: Our location within the US is in Florida and our upcoming exhibition attendance as exhibitors is in California. We will be moving to gain exposure in those markets abut will also concentrate equally on those states from which we receive interest.

CR: What have been some of your highlights in the tribal gaming market in the last 12 months?

DO: Without doubt, the arrival of the great new game range from Sunshine Games has been a particular highlight. So too are the plans for site testing at both tribal government and commercial properties in south Florida.

CR: Tribal gaming is currently the fastest growing sector in US land-based gaming, how significant is it for your company?

DO: It is sometimes thought that tribal government gaming is somehow an easier route to market than commercial gaming. That assumption is, in our opinion, not at all correct. Opportunities exist in both sectors and it is our plan to maximise opportunities in both sectors. That said, the growth that has been seen recently in tribal government gaming is spectacular and is underpinned by NIGA’s laudable commitment to create both wealth and employment to the betterment of Indian Country. That commitment is one reason why Merkur Gaming is proud to be an associate member of NIGA and to play a full role in its aims and objectives.

CR: Looking at trends and technology where is the tribal gaming sector headed and what kind of products are doing well at present?

DO: Preferences of course change state by state and, indeed, venue by venue. But the overwhelming trend is for gaming venues and products to provide ever greater levels of entertainment. We believe very strongly that at NIGA Merkur Gaming will showcase products that are absolutely in line with that trend for more gaming entertainment and for products that step away from the norm and offer exciting new possibilities.
