The Netherlands welcomes new online gambling trade association

The Association for Licensed Dutch Online Gaming Providers (VNLOK) launched at the start of September.

 

The new industry body was founded by five potential gaming providers in the Netherland’s new online market. “The energy among the members of VNLOK is extremely positive. Together we will do everything we can to make a real difference when it comes to proper regulation of the online gambling market and offering a responsible and safe range of online games of chance,” said VNLOK’s chairman Helma Lodders.

VNLOK’s founding members are Holland Casino, FPO Nederland, JOI Gaming, Nederlandse Loterij, and ZEbetting and Gaming Nederland. The trade body aims to acts as a central point of contact for relevant stakeholders including government ministries, the KSA and partners in addiction prevention.

The country’s new Remote Gambling Act came into effect at the start of April. The law regulates online games of chance in the Netherlands, including as online casino, live sports betting, online bingo and online poker.
