Novomatic strengthens European position, eyes global expansion

Casino Review: What will be some of your standout products at ICE 2019?

Mike Robinson: A wide seletion of cutting-edge solutions, exciting new content and key technologies of the Novomatic Group will be exhibited by over 20 subsidiaries targeting the respective markets. High- lights will include new slot titles such as Lucky Lady’s Wild Spell, Princesses of War, Apollo God of the Sun – a land-based version of a hit Greentube game – and the international premiere of MacGyver, presented across the latest range of cabinets including the Panthera and V.I.P. series.
Greentube will highlight new slot launches for interactive markets too, including the online version of Enchanted Fortunes Linked Jackpot with a string of popular themes, as well as Great Gambini’s Night Magic and to mark the launch, there will be a magician at the stand on the Wednesday performing spectacular street magic.

CR: What have been some of the key highlights for Novomatic over the last 12 months?

MR: There has been year-on- year growth over the last 12 months as existing customers upgrade their operations with the latest products, as well as new installations taking place. Major international casino installations have included the new Corona Casino in Vietnam and Palm Spring Resort in Liberia. Another highlight was the opening of Novo Zone at Sun Casino in Monaco, which features some of the latest Novomatic and Ainsworth machines and has proved very popular with guests.

CR: In your view, how is the European market changing in terms of trends and technological developments?

MR: Current trends in Europe include linked as well as stand-alone progressive jackpots. At ICE, the Enchanted Fortunes Linked Jackpot that has been gaining traction with several installations in Europe, will show- case a full suite of popular linked progressive titles like Asian Fortunes, Voodoo For- tunes and Goddess Rising. The new Pay Day game series will be also presented with themes Prized Panda and Prize of the Nile that feature a fast-paced six-level stand- alone progressive. Novomatic Biometrics Systems will also feature throughout the stand, implemented into gaming terminals, SSBTs, cash machines, turnstiles and a new entry game terminal.
Individual system solutions for the European mar- kets will also be demonstrated. A main focus this year is on Germany, following the introduction of the TR 5.0 technical regulation last year. At ICE, Löwen Entertainment will bring its new Pro Generation range and the Casinonet data management system that features a comprehensive range of back office and security functions.

CR: From a global perspective, which jurisdictions offer the greatest potential for market growth for Novomatic at present?

MR: While strengthening our leading position in Europe, there is a lot of potential throughout the rest of the world.
