Land-based operator wins Portugal’s first online licence

Estoril Sol, the Portuguese branch of Stanley Ho’s global gaming conglomerate that runs some of the biggest casinos in Europe – Estoril, Lisboa and Póvoa – has been awarded the country’s first online gaming licence.

 

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he group has partnered with Gaming1, an online gaming solutions provider and member of Ardent Group, to launch EstorilSolCasinos.pt – the first licensed website to offer legal, online casino-style gambling in Portugal.

The new site is based on a state-of-the-art platform with game content that is fully compliant with Portuguese regulations. It is available on mobile and desktop and launches with solely Gaming1 content, including 15 video slots, two roulette and one blackjack game. More content will be added in the coming weeks, the company said.

Elsewhere in Portugal over the last month, Macau Legend Development has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Setúbal Municipality, south of Lisbon, for the proposed development of an integrated leisure, tourism and entertainment project in the region.
