Scientific Games Corporation has signed an agreement with Apigee, a subsidiary of Google, to utilise its full lifecycle application programming interface (“API”) management platform.

This agreement allows Scientific Games to deploy Apigee API management software in its suite of casino and slot management systems solutions and will enable Scientific Games to design, secure, deploy, monitor, and scale APIs, the company said in a statement.

“Scientific Games is committed to providing the best possible technology solutions for our customers and this agreement with Apigee, along with our newly launched Partner Program, underscores that commitment,” Catherine Burns, senior vice-president of gaming systems for Scientific Games, said.

“The Apigee API platform will help us to open up the door for more flexibility in working with third-party providers, enabling smoother integration and better security between our systems’ products and third-party products. This gives our casino clients the ability to more easily integrate ‘Best of Breed’ product combinations to meet their specific operational needs, as well as enhance their interactions with their customers.”

Founded in 2004, Apigee delivers an intelligent API platform that enables companies to securely share their enterprise data and services to provide connected digital experiences. Apigee was acquired by Google in 2016.
