The organisers for SiGMA announce that their summit broke records across the board last week and confirm even grander plans for 2017.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he third edition of SiGMA has broken all previous records set for the summit held in Malta last week.
Event organisers had anticipated roughly 3,000 attendees but final numbers were closer to 4,000 in 2016 almost doubling last year’s record for visitor turnout.
SiGMA 2016 also saw over 300 affiliates flown to Malta by the show’s organisers and there are plans in place to double this figure in 2017 in a bid to inject “fresh traffic” to the show.
This year also saw SiGMA’s popular conferences transferred to a larger venue to accommodate the higher number of visitors and redesigned, cabaret style layout.
2016 also saw two additional firsts for SiGMA with the BiG Charity Dinner and the inaugral edition of Malta iGaming Awards.
Among the other new events introduced during SiGMA16, the SiGMA Startup Pitch, brought together nine startups and seven investors in a Dragon’s Den style environment. The first SiGMA Startup Pitch was won by sportsbook software provider, Commologic.
Preparations for SiGMA17 are underway with booths already selling fast. Further details on the next edition to be announced in early 2017 at maltaigamingsummit.com.
