The hospitality and construction firm, founded in 2017 as part of investment firm China Yunnan Jingcheng Group, will enlist the junket operator to advise on the $360m, 65,000 sq ft venue, set to open in 2019.
Located on Otres Beach, the integrated resort will utilise Suncity’s “consultancy services,” as part of a licensed casino gaming, sports betting, hotel and duty-free complex.
The location is a popular holiday destination for Chinese tourists, and will capitalise on the low level of competition from 16 neighbouring small-scale Baccarat-focused casinos.
Though Suncity’s role in the partnership is currently limited to consultancy, the firm announced its duties could multiply, after the two companies “formalise specific contracts.”
The announcement comes shortly after Suncity’s announcement of “significant losses” for H118, which saw a mismanaged convertible bond derivative drive loss up 160 percent to $240.97m.
