The Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, is to begin construction on a new 109-room Hampton Inn by Hilton, set to open mid-2020.

The new facility will bring total rooms onsite up to 818, with resort owner the Oneida Indian Nation enlisting Massachusetts-based Benchmark Development to build the new facility within the existing 3,400 acre property.

“We see the new Hampton Inn as a strong complement to all that is offered at Turning Stone, and we are always thrilled to help generate and maintain additional economic activity in the area,” said Oneida Nation representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter.

“Many businesses have literally grown up around Turning Stone and that’s a good thing, and evidence that our enterprises are a magnet and strong economic engine for the entire region.”

The new hotel’s design will mirror that of the Turning Stone, with its additional accommodation intended to cater for increased visitor numbers to the casino, following the 1 August opening of its sports betting lounge in association with Caesars Entertainment.

The 125,000 sq ft casino offers guests 2,000 slots, a range of table games, Keno, Bingo, a poker room, and the separate Casino Blu for gamblers who wish to smoke, as well as the TS Rewards loyalty card system offering member benefits and special offers.

Turning Stone also offers guests a spa, PGA-standard golf course, 12 dining options and a 5,000-seat theatre, with 2019 seeing Forbes Travel Guide awarding the resort three Four Star awards, while AAA awarded it three Four Diamond Awards.

The new Hampton Inn will be operated by Meyer Jabara Hotels, with regional director of development for Benchmark Development Briahn Cohan stating the hotel “will be a great addition to an area already accustomed to world-class amenities and award-winning guest service”
