The 9th Women in Gaming Awards (WIG) is to take place at the stunning Savoy hotel, London, 11 May 2018.
The awards ceremony aims to inspire future generations of girls into the gaming and technology sectors by helping to create a “progressive and positive arena, bridging the gender gap”.
With 17 different awards, including; The B2B Excellence Awards, Best Places to work, Company of the Year, Innovator of the Year and Hidden Talent of the Year, the ceremony is a compressive celebration of the influence women have across the gaming sector.
But it’s not only women that the awards ceremony aims to attract – this years ceremony hopes to encourage more men to attend the event.
“We are delighted to see so many men join us in the past 8 years, but we want to encourage more men to attend,” says the WIG, “We are asking all industry men and women to support gender equality and join us in celebration!”
With this year marking the 100 years since (some) women in the UK were legally allowed to vote, the awards hope to see all facets of the industry in attendance, helping push towards equality in the gaming sector.
The WIG hopes that more men attending ceremonies such as this “will help to make a more equal world for your mothers, sisters and future of your daughters”.
