Canada’s largest city has finally brought table games into the fold by way of Great Canadian Gaming’s Woodbine Racetrack and casino.
Operator of the venue, GCG subsidiary One Toronto Gaming, announced that it had finally received zoning approval to add live and electronic table games to the formerly slot-only premises.
Woodbine will now offer 50 live dealer and 200 electronic tables alongside a stadium-style set up that will support a further 100 positions. The company is additionally looking to install a 50 further manned tables and more than 300 slot machines, bringing total holding upwards of 3,000 by the year end.
The property has been operating slots of various guises since 1956 and finally was granted rights to open a casino in 2015 following failed attempts to bring a purpose-built venue to central Toronto.
